The Artwork that inspired the Seed of Benevolence Project...
Artist's Book
In undergrad our professor asked us to create an artist's book. There were not limitations on what kind of book and the project was open to be as traditional or as abstract as we wanted to be.
I decided to create a book of "shirts". We all have that favorite shirt that we like to wear. Some shirts are our favorites because they feel good, some because we look good, and others because it takes us back memory lane. I collected shirts from close friends and family members for this project. I asked each person that was willing to participate to tell me why this was their favorite shirt and if they were willing to let it go and the outcome was great! I took each story and created an image with their story on it and hit the screen printing studio. The images to the left are the results of that project.
Right before I turned in that project I felt i needed a little more so I went to the Rescue Mission and talked to a fellow there about my project and he wanted to participate. He was the only one I interviewed for this particular project. His story totally sparked my interest and has been on the back burner ever since...
Until now! Thank you Caldo Collective! I now have the drive, platform, and support to carry this project to the forefront and hopefully make a difference through the artwork created!
